What is club volleyball?
Club volleyball or Junior Olympic volleyball consists of regionally organized and governed training programs for girls interested in obtaining advanced level training and competition in the sport of volleyball. Players participate after or before their school volleyball season and compete against other club programs. Club volleyball also works to promote the sport of volleyball and to teach the skills needed for a lifetime of play.
How much does it cost to join?
Fees for the 2012-2013 season will be announced at our tryout sessions.
Payments are made frequently during the season. Extended payment plans are available. Year round plan also.
What does this cover?
Dues pay for: tournament entry fees, gym rental, coaches salaries, insurance, equipment and office supplies. This does not cover travel expenses that players incur.
Do you have boy’s teams?
No, unfortunately due to limited resources we will not be offering boy’s team.
Where do your teams play?
Select teams play regionally. Regional tournaments are located throughout the El Paso and southwest area. Select teams will play in approximately 10-12 events. Travel is required.
How do players get to events?
Families are responsible for getting their daughters to events. Players and families frequently carpool and share travel duties.
Where do you practice?
All practices are held at Life Church on loop 375. Other locations will be announced when needed.
When do you practice?
Practices are held weeknights between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm (6–7:30 & 7:30–9pm). Teams may also practice some Saturday mornings. A practice schedule is posted monthly on our website.
How do you get involved?
All players must tryout. Try Outs are held in October and November. Players are chosen at tryouts based on a variety of attributes including athletic ability and attitude.
What if we do not want this structured of a program?
Depending on interest and numbers, we may do a local option only.
How often do you practice?
Teams practice a minimum of twice a week. On occasion, a team may practice three times weekly.
How long is the season?
Competition teams compete November–June.
Do all players play equally?
No. While every player will get opportunities to play at every tournament, the specific amount of playing time is at the coach’s discretion and will not be equal for all players. Players earn playing time through game situations and practice. Every player will get the same opportunities in practice to earn playing time.
How many players are on a team?
Between 10–12.
